The Superlight is one of the quickest yet, producing over 400bhp per tonne from its new Hayabusa Powered engine – that’s enough to punch the bantamweight Caterham to 60 in just 3.7 seconds. The slick gearbox enables you to keep right in the powerband at all times with a red line of 10,400 RPM - It has to be heard to be belived.

Road cars don’t get more minimalist but who cares when the tiny steering wheel provides flick wrist control as you fling the 7 around with rapidly increasing confidence. The front wheels bobble around, turning this way and that as you revel in the direct steering to control your slides.
